Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

Publishing in the International Journal of Integrated Science and Technology (IJIST) plays a crucial role in building a reliable and respected body of knowledge. It reflects the quality of research from authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed publications uphold scientific integrity, and all involved parties—authors, editors, reviewers, publishers, and readers—must adhere to high ethical standards.

As the publisher, Multitech Publisher ensures that all publishing processes are conducted responsibly, maintaining ethical principles. Furthermore, advertising, reprinting, or any commercial interests do not influence editorial decisions.

Publication Decisions

The IJIST editor is responsible for selecting the most suitable articles for publication, ensuring their validity and relevance for researchers and readers. Decisions are based on the journal’s editorial policies and legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors may consult other editorial members or reviewers when making decisions.

Fair Evaluation

All submitted manuscripts are evaluated based on intellectual merit, without discrimination related to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, nationality, or political views.

Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff must maintain strict confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts. Information should only be shared with authors, reviewers, potential reviewers, editorial advisors, and the publisher when necessary.

Conflicts of Interest & Disclosure

Editors are prohibited from using unpublished materials in their own research without written consent from the authors.

Responsibilities of Authors

1. Reporting Standards

Authors must present accurate research results with objective discussions of their significance. The paper should contain sufficient detail and references for others to replicate the study. Any false or misleading statements are considered unethical and unacceptable.

2. Data Accessibility & Retention

Authors should provide raw data for editorial review and ensure the availability of such data for public access when possible, in line with ALPSP-STM’s Statement on Data and Databases.

7. Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their research.

8. Corrections & Retractions

If an author discovers a significant error in their published work, they must promptly notify the editor and cooperate in retracting or correcting the paper.

9. Ethical Considerations for Human & Animal Subjects

If research involves hazardous chemicals, procedures, or equipment, authors must clearly indicate any potential risks in the manuscript.

Responsibilities of Editors

1. Fair and Unbiased Evaluation

Manuscripts must be evaluated purely on their academic merit, without bias related to authors' background or affiliations.

2. Confidentiality

Editors must not disclose any details about submitted manuscripts, except to relevant parties involved in the publishing process.

3. Conflicts of Interest

Editors must not use unpublished material for their own research without explicit permission from the author.

4. Decision-Making & Review Process

Editors are responsible for selecting high-quality articles based on their validity and relevance. They must follow the journal’s peer review process, ensuring fair and objective assessments.

5. Reviewer Selection

Editors must assign qualified peer reviewers with expertise in the subject area while avoiding conflicts of interest.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

2. Timeliness

Reviewers should inform the editor promptly if they are unable to review a manuscript within the given timeframe.

3. Objectivity & Constructive Criticism

Reviews should be objective and constructive, avoiding personal criticism of authors.

4. Confidentiality

Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and should not be shared without permission from the editor.

5. Conflicts of Interest

Reviewers must not use privileged information from the manuscripts they review and should decline to review if conflicts of interest exist.

6. Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant research that has not been cited and alert editors to any suspected plagiarism or substantial overlap with other published works.
