This study aims to identify the material and potential of arts and culture in Bumijo Kulon Village, Yogyakarta, as a basis for developing a pilot Cultural Village. The method used is descriptive qualitative with in-depth interviews with arts figures, community leaders, village officials, and direct observation of local cultural activities. The results of the study indicate the existence of three main forms of arts and culture: dance, gamelan, and the mortar tradition. Dance is still performed in village events as entertainment and a means of transmitting cultural values, gamelan is actively preserved through karawitan groups that regularly practice, while the mortar tradition is revitalized in festivals as a symbol of mutual cooperation. Although preservation is still ongoing, the main challenges are the regeneration of artists and the low interest of the younger generation. Therefore, the development strategies offered include revitalizing performances, early arts education through PAUD, cross-stakeholder collaboration, and the use of digital media. With these strategies, the potential of arts and culture in Bumijo Kulon has a great opportunity to support the formation of a sustainable and competitive Cultural Village.
