Career Orientation for High School Students in the Digital Era in Contemporary Vietnam

Abstract

In the context of the digital era, characterized by the rapid development of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, big data, and the Internet of Things, the labor market in Vietnam is undergoing profound transformations in both occupational structures and skill requirements. This situation presents new challenges and opportunities for high school students, who represent the future workforce of the nation. The study focuses on analyzing the characteristics of the digital era and its impacts on the labor market, as well as on career orientation for high school students in Vietnam. It also highlights the current limitations in awareness and methods of career guidance. On this basis, the paper proposes solutions to enhance the effectiveness of career orientation in Vietnamese high schools today. The findings contribute scientific evidence to the innovation of career education, aiming to prepare young human resources to be adaptive, creative, and effectively integrated into the global digital economy.
