Abstract

Mastery of English speaking skills has become an important demand for Indonesian junior high school students, yet many learners still demonstrate limited speaking performance despite having received instruction for several years. This quantitative study employed an ex post facto design and involved 128 public junior high school students in Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia.Item validity testing using Pearson correlations showed that all item–total coefficients exceeded the r-table value (0.173).
